Why Study International GCSE Geography?
International GCSE Geography helps you to develop a ‘sense of place’ by looking at the world around you on a local, regional and global scale. You will examine a range of natural and man-made environments, and study some of the processes which affected their development. You will also look at the ways in which people interact with their environment, and the opportunities and challenges and environment can present, thereby gaining a deeper insight into the different communities and cultures that exist around the world. Prior requirements and hours of study
International GCSE Geography requires about 130 hours of study. The number of hours needed may vary depending on your previous experience of the subject.
We recommend that students who are beginning this course should have previously completed a Geography curriculum such as the International Lower Secondary programme or equivalent national educational framework.

Examination Entry
All students who complete the appropriate courses at Cyebridge Online School are eligible to sit exams like the International GCSEs or A/AS Levels. But while students can do all of their learning online at home, we cannot administer exams online. To sit exams, students must travel in person to one of 10,000 International Exam Centres located in 160 countries around the globe.
But we’re here to help. We’ll provide you with all the necessary exam codes you need to present to the exam centre, and any other pertinent information you need to know to get your child signed up correctly.
Also, as part of the initial information, we provide during the pre-enrolment process, you’ll receive contact information for all the International Exam Centres in your area. Once you’ve ensured that the exam centre of your choice offers the specific exam level your child needs, the exam centre will arrange accommodations for your child and give you detailed information on obtaining the results.

Why Study International AS & A Level Geography?
The International AS & A Level Geography course builds upon skills gained at International GCSE (or equivalent) level study. You will widen your knowledge and understanding of the subject, while developing your investigative abilities and your evaluation and decision-making skills.
The course is wide-ranging and comprises a variety of options. For example, you can study topics such as hydrology and fluvial geomorphology, atmosphere and weather, rocks and weathering, population change and settlement dynamics. The course considers a range of environments, from tropical to arid, and you can also study subjects such as environmental management, global interdependence and economic transition. International AS Level Geography requires about 180 hours of study, and International A Level Geography requires about 360 hours of study.

Grade B/6 or above in Geography at IGCSE (or equivalent) is required before starting International AS & A Geography. It is also necessary that all A-Level students have IGCSE English Language or the equivalent at Grade C/4 or above.

Students studying AS Level Geography only take two papers out of four in a single examination series.
